Program RIMUP 2008.
Been there, done that. Haha.
Actually, I can honestly say that I had no idea that I was going for a RIMUP event, all I know was that I was only going to Convent to support SIGS's netball and handball teams. And not forgetting to meet the one and only Green Cheese after so long =)
Besides, who in SIGS that's a third former won't find a chance to escape from the afternoon session and skip all those planned activities for something more fun and interesting instead? Do not even dare to deny that very fact, third formers! XD
So, the day started out with many complications in school. If you're from Convent and if you had noticed that some of us were wearing red and the majority of the supporters were wearing lavender, that is actually the biggest problem out of everything else. But, I think I shall not mention anything here, least it goes around and gets added with unneeded extra information (=
Here's a short recap of the day's events in my point of view :
Reached Convent, then went on to do my job as a supporter and scream my brains out for the handball team first. I must say, Convent had a strong team, but SIGS did a good job as well =] The two rounds went to Convent and we had a break after that.
Fiddle, meddle, doodle.
Went back to the field and hung out, then I saw Geetha! Taking loads of pictures =D Actually I wanted to say hi to her earlier, but my brain was lagging and I couldn't process what to say to her beforehand, so I just let things happened by itself XD Sorry Green Cheese, my bad D=
Then, the netball competition started. Three words : It was FIERCE.
Ended what seemed to be a very quick match and we were asked to go to the hall not long after. Listened to a short speech by Puan Khadijah who's the representative for another teacher and proceeded with the prize giving ceremony. I am quite impressed with the Convent spirit. Really.
Munched on some lunch then saw Green Cheese again for another picture, this time with Vena Cava aka Veena. Lol.
Went back to school with Hanifah singing her heart out to some Malay songs. She's a great entertainer XD The ones she sang that really made an impression till I could still remember the names of those songs are "Suzanna" and "Ayahku Kahwin Lagi". At least, I THINK those are the titles anyway. Haha.
The snapshots of the day. Major credits goes to the fabulous Geetha and her awesome photography skills ;)
What I'd learnt from today's event :
1. There's a reason why we had to walk all the way to the other side of the field in Convent on the cemented ground. On post-rainy days like today, Min Wen and I made the mistake of letting our shoes sink into the very fragile muddy patches of soil. Which sums it up to THE ENTIRE FIELD. Lesson learnt!
2. SIGS has a limited number of chants and cheers. Time to innovate and be creative hopefully.
3. It's NOT a good idea to shorten the school's name to just GS in the respected cheers. GS is short for Girls' School in Sultan Ibrahim Girls' School, and note that Convent is also a Girls' School. We were indirectly cheering for both teams! LOL.
4. GS could also mean Goal Shooter in netball language, so besides cheering for Noris who's the GS for the SIGS team, once again we're also indirectly cheering for Convent's GS! So much for trying to lift only our school's team spirit. LOL.
5. Miss Green Cheese is not only photogenic in her pictures, but even prettier when you meet her in person! Not like that's unexpected =P
All in all, being a part of this program is all worth it, even though the word RIMUP seriously does brings back not so fond memories. Hahah.
Which reminds me. Geetha, had you even got started with your amazing soon-to-be masterpiece, the one of a kind Green Cheese? Why isn't there any news of it at all? x] It is already post-PMR XD
Coming up next, Prefect Day 2008 ;D
