SIGS Prefect Trip 2007

I guess this can also be considered a D.E., considering I had not updated it ay-sap like I should. Aha. Prefect Trip seriously rocks and I have no regrets going for it. I was thinking this was like, a stupid educational programme that is just gonna make us suffer just like we did in school and I just signed up cos I wanna go to Cameron and KL but it was pretty awesome on the whole.

Let's begin!

Day 1 - 14/06/2007, Thursday

Woke up early so I could reach school on time. Suppose to set off at 6.30 I think, but we were delayed cos Evonne was late. Haha, just like her, like the ENTIRE bus was waiting for her, the one and only. Lol.

Set off to KL. Apsara was my bus-mate for these four days. Reached KLIA after 5 stinky hours. looked around and went into the choco shop there. Everybody wanted lunch terribly but we chose to starve instead. Why? The food is obviously bloody expensive. Seriously, everybody wanted to save our cash for shopping later on, and a major expensive lunch on the 1st day is absoulutely unacceptable!

Next stop was Jabatan Meteorologi, or Malaysia's weather forecast centre. I was actually kinda interested in the weather forecast stuff, but because the speech given by the guy was so boring and I can't even understand anything, I'll skip it. Basically the people the have to forecast the weather to make sure it's okay for the airplanes to set off or take down. Anyway all of us were starving so none of us were really listening to him, but the growls of our stomaches XD I was surviving on Apsara's bubblegum and trying to blow bubbles away without the teachers noticing XDD Had lunch at last around, 4PM?? Thank goodness the food wasn't so bad, and I happily took a second helping. The cafeteria wasn't that horrid either. And from that moment Nimisha was starting her grudge against me, just because of some cucumber =.=

Some pictures:

Then instead of the KLCC we were expecting, we went on the Eye On Malaysia. Not that bad, the lighting was good and night scenes always give me that special feeling. Haha. Was in the same whatever you call that thing with Apsara, Veena, Evonne, Patricia, Jane and Natasha. Definitely had fun karaoke-ing "Happy Ending" and "American Idiot" with Evonne as the main vocalist and Jane and Natasha secretly recording down her off-pitched singing that time XD

Pics Pics Pics~:

AK and Apsara~

Camwhoring gals~ XD

Apsara and AK, which I accidently put on zoom. Lol.

Next stop was KLCC, where we were bought our dinner. What a nice day huh. With simple meals and starving moments, none of us really enjoyed our 1st day until we reached the hotel. We were also kinda dissapointed that we can't shop that time, as it was getting late, we need rest, etc. Typical. Checked in at Hotel Cempaka for the night. Not bad considering it's a 3-star hotel. It's seriously like a 4-star. And I'm in LOVE with the blankets there XD Room number was 1301.

Day 2 - 15/07/2007, Friday

Woke up the earliest. Apsara too. In the end we didn't wait for Veena and Evonne and decided to get some chow first. The food was manifique, like what a untypical 3-star hotel should provide, lol. After that we checked out and stopped at Universiti Malaya and checked out the Hutan Rimba and Muzium Seni Asia. The place was kinda big, not that bad really. I seriously enjoyed the mini museum after the Hutan Rimba thingy. Full of interesting odds and ends.

At the mini museum:

I deleted most of my pictures here due to my soon-to-be memory-less memory card.

Muzium Seni Asia / Museum of Asian Art:

History of the doll above. Interesting. Hmmmm..

NUS is one of the sponsers? Really unexpected.

After all that historical stuff we set off and up north to Cameron Highlands. I was really happy that my ears didn't pop so annoyingly even though I was not chewing my gum properly. And I and Apsara were debating whether Cameron's in Perak or Pahang. Haha. Somewhere in Cameron we stopped at this place where they sold and manufactured Cameron's best tea. Bought the tea bags mumsie wanted when my cousin bought just a box for her as a souvenir in his last trip. Haha. And tell you what, the view here was just ah-mazing. I was rendered speechless at the really incredibly beautiful view of this:

Eat your hearts out at this. The fresh air + the breathtaking view = Jealous you, and happy me XD

Well, continued our trip to Brinchang. And reached pretty soon enough.

Went to this pasar malam. Really lots of nice items and souvenirs to get for closed ones back home =) Though the rain wasn't a really exciting point of this little shopping trip, bargaining was all worth the drizzle on our heads. Gillian and I were like bargaining with every shop owner and we refuse to buy the stuff we selected till the shop owners agreed XD We make a great shopaholic pair XDD

"Brinchang is surprisingly a very clean area with polite residents and with all the facilities you need. Restaurants, mini markets..You name them you have them. Other then the cool weather everything seems to be ideal here."

That's what most of us thought. The moment we set our feet in Brinchang Hotel..

"...AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!"

The hotel, or more like motel, was incredibly too small for the SIGS-ian prefects who came for this trip. I wasn't very taken aback yet till we entered room 413 where Apsara, Veena, Evonne and I were bunking in. We were thinking we're the only lucky ones with a bigger room than the rest. Half right. It was only slightly wider but the facilities was just as bad as the other rooms. All of us were seen rampaging out of our own rooms complaining about the mouldy bedsheets, yellow coloured water dribbling from our taps, the freezingly icy cold water in this already freezingly cold climate, no heaters, no hair-dryers, etc. The list could go on and on.

After the chaotic havoc we were causing we realized we were wasting sweet precious time that was ticking away faster than usual to get ready for the malam silaturahim. I pakat-ed with most of the rest to not shower first, and stay stinky in our blue PJ shirts. Haha.

Went down and ate a splendid dinner to make up for every little bitty mistake back in the motel. Haha. After that we watched a very interesting sketch by Nimisha and the gang about an edited version of Si Tanggang. Nimi was Kandang bin Lembu, haha. The so-called anak derhaka. Lol. Can't really remember the storyline I can only remember it was so funny my stomach hurt so bad and the ending, instead of turning into stone like the original story, Kandang and his wife ( Kak Azliana I think XD ) were sentenced to dancing forever! There was ballet and breakdancing..God I nearly laughed my brains out that time. Then there was a game we played but thank goodness it ended quickly due to the time limit we had, cos the punishments weren't very much looked forward to by anybody. Hahahaha.

According to Veena we played hand heart attack and lai lai si lai game (?) which immediately cheered me up. From Cik Low wanting to do the perlantikan the very next day and I won't be there. Honestly I was so frucking worried. Now I don't even care since Cik Low was so ungracious about lantik-ing me.

Went to sleep. We so seriously can't wait to leave Brinchang, beautiful as Cameron is.

Day 3 - 16/07/2007, Saturday

Woke up the earliest again. Took that really cold bath and got out of there ay-sap. Woke Apsara up as well. Seriously she was the only sensible one who could wake up after being called just once or twice. ( Apsara, tak payah kembang. And Veena and Evonne, tak payah jealous. You two were serious sleepyheads during the trip XP ) After chowing down some nasi lemak at the same restaurant as yesterday night, we were on our way to MARDI.

The air was really fresh and great to breathe in, considering all the cigarettes and air pollution that went into my lungs back home. The place was really pretty. I mean it.

Pics galore:

All in jackets! Miss Denim, Miss Cotton and Miss Brights.

After some sight-seeing went to shop at this small shop. Heh. Then waited outside this President's White House look-a-like mansion or building or thingamajig for a really utterly boring speech on the methods the plants and fruits here were planted, etc. Gillian and I were originally camwhoring but too bad the pictures were too blurred, or I would have kept it till the very end in my cam. Had to delete due to the same old problem.

Then next stop was the bee farm. Wanted to buy some honey for my family but I was really worried it might just break into little pieces in the bumpy journey back to KL later. Went see see look look at the farm and before entering, there was this auntie who was repeating her words over and over like a broken recorder,

"Jangan petik bunga, jangan sentuh lebah, jalan betul-betul, nanti jatuh saya tak tau."

Many people found her words very interesting and humourous. Me included. Lol. Sometimes she'll twist her toungue and go "Jangan jalan, nanti jatuh." (?) She doesn't bother correcting herself so it's kinda funny. Lol.

More More More Pictures:

Last interesting stop was the cactus farm. Loads of interesting cacti here.

At last we went to this small shop that sells really fresh vegs, fruits and cacti. Didn't buy anything there, I wanted to splurge at KLCC XD And I was thinking how fresh can those things stay. Heh.

Journey back to KL at long last. Stopped at this waterfall area which had really cool water. Forgotten to bring both camera AND phone down, so no pictures here T.T

Reached KL. All of us were suffering as the air conditioning and lights broke down miserably. Veena and I were making up and singing songs about the lousy bus. Hehe. All of us were making one hell of a noise in there. And the rain just had to come to make it all gloomier.

That's not all.

We were stuck in a massive traffic congestion.

So goes on the noise in the bus till we reach Hotel Cempaka hours after the predicted time. Supposed to have dinner as well but all skipped. Instead we went over opposite to 7-11 and got instant noodles and chips to eat. What a meal. Ju Chin and the rest got themselves a huge stack of eatables and drinkables for a sort of midnight feast. Hehe.

This time no unlucky room number for the room. Room 1503 was heaven compared to that big lump of mess back at Brinchang. After a shower I saw Nimisha coming into our room looking really scared. First time I saw her looking guilty over something. Seems like she and Apsara were playing and fooling around with the bell-boy cart and rolling around sini sana. Kak Ros was also apparently in the game and was taking a video of them having the time of their life. It was till the hotel management caught them on CCTV and there were people escorting them back to their rooms. Hehehehe. Pn Hjh Fatimah apologized to the hotel management and didn't blame Nimi one bit. Well prefects DO need some fun sometimes ;)

Went over with Veena to Nimisha and Kak Ros's room to make a little visit. Heh. Played heart attack and SNAP the card way. Had loads of fun! Seriously, I don't remember having this much fun as a prefect in school. We were screaming and squealing and making so much noise. Lol.

Walked back to my room and took a picture of the view outside.

I just LOVE KL at night.

Next morning...

KLCC enwarped in the mist.

Woke up 1st again and showered follwed by Apsara. Went down for the so so delicious breakfast down there. Though the food wasn't as appetizing as the 1st time we came here.

Had this gathering next to the swimming pool. All the groups had to present the stupid assignments we got at KLIA. After that we had this exchanging gift thingy and guess what? Pn Halinah got my present while I got hers =) Fated wei. She's like one of sweetest teachers I ever knew. I felt so bad that I just bought a stupid keychain at half-price in Cameron while she got hers all neatly wrapped up.

Checked out of the hotel and set off to the Aquaria.

Aquaria was a blast =) Bought some stuff there too. I was always interested in marine life. Too bad I can't swim =(

Shopped for an hour or so I guess. Was having severe constipation that time. Haha.

Made our journey back home. The way home was long and hard and totally boring me out.

There's good old Monees and Narishma in the bus =)

And to end this long long post at good long last..

Living the SUITE LIFE was AWESOME V(^^)V
